Welcome to the Seeley Union School District. Formed in 1912, SUSD is a single-school, K-8 district serving approximately 450 students on the western part of Imperial County, California.
With over 350 days of sunshine a year, the Imperial Valley has some of the most fertile land in the world, with crops growing year round, making our home one of the nation's top agricultural regions.
We are fortunate as a school to have been adopted by the El Centro Naval Air Facility which is located within our school district boundaries. The winter home of the world famous Blue Angels, NAF-El Centro provides the school with assistance in many areas, including setting up for special events, volunteering for various functions and providing facilities for our 8th grade graduation when needed. With over 55 of our students coming from the base, we value this special relationship.
Our school is diligently implementing the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act and is funded as a Reading First School, offering additional funds and staffing to support our reading program. Our test scores have risen each of the past 8 years and we are continually updating our teacher training and materials to ensure each student receives the best education possible.
